Table Talks with Mark Thompson: A Minister and Advocate that “Came out” at 50

I have a real treat for you on today's Table Talks edition of Coffee with Keith.  My guest today is the Rev Mark Thompson.  Mark, father, grandfather, pastor, and social activist, lives in St Ignance, Mich.  He is an Elder in the Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church, having served for 35 years.  He cam out at the age of 50 after realizing that being in the closet was leading to more suicidal ideation.  After coming out, he was able to be a stronger advocate, leading the way for more queer clergy and others to feel safe and to live authentic lives.  His advocacy involves creating "safe space" for queer people of all ages.

One of his passions is a camp for queer kids to attend.  To find out more about that, visit https://www.facebook.com/CampBelovedLakeLouise
